About the Maercker District
Maercker School District 60 has been the recipient of the School Search Bright Red Apple Award multiple times, including 2013, and received Financial Recognition from the State of Illinois. Students are fully prepared for advanced course options at area high schools. The district is committed to providing small class sizes, and offers a Spanish Bilingual Program at K-5. Students have access to multiple extra-curricular activities, including 11 clubs at Maercker Intermediate School, and 18 clubs and 18 sports for boys and girls at Westview Hills Middle School.
High Schools
Prospective Westmont residents can choose 1 of 4 high schools that serve the community. Though varying in size and environment, each provide college preparatory curricula and boast high college matriculation rates.
Small Size High School
Westmont High School, with an enrollment of under 500 students, offers smaller class sizes and personal instruction for students who prefer a wider rage of participation and leadership opportunities in a small-school setting along with many of the opportunities and resources of a larger school.
Medium Size High Schools
Downers Grove District High Schools (North and South) are medium size high schools with residential boundaries in Westmont. During the past year, over 200 district students were named Illinois State Scholars, a prestigious recognition of academic achievement.
Larger High Schools
Hinsdale, District 86, Central, and South are among the larger high schools in the Chicagoland-area with an enrollment of nearly 3,000, Hinsdale Central has a robust curriculum of close to 300 courses, over 50 extracurricular clubs and activities and 28 interscholastic sports teams.
